Support the Wasaga Short Film Festival

Our business leaders in Wasaga Beach recognize that a strong arts and culture base will have a significant impact on our community and up and coming young leaders. The Wasaga Beach community has a healthy volunteer contingent and keen desire to enrich the community and set a standard in Canada for quality of life and meaningful community engagement.

Our tourism vision has led us to undertake an annual "short film" festival that will complement the efforts our Wasaga Beach community has embraced to make our town a leading community in the Ontario Georgian Triangle, known for Quality of Life and as a four season preferred international resort destination.

The short film festival aims to showcase the best in category short films submitted by individuals, groups, companies, teaching institutions and associations. Our film festival vision is based on capturing the imagination of film makers and actors at the grass roots level creating an opportunity for international exposure while eliminating entry barriers and providing a focus for talent, passion, capability and achievement. We hope to leverage the natural beauty of our location to inspire our participants to produce films that will promote the beauty, vibrancy, vitality and quality of life of Wasaga Beach honouring its natural ecosystems, visitors, residents and businesses. Wasaga Beach was the first beach in North America to be recognized as a Blue Flag Beach, an international award for clean beaches. Over two million people visit the town every summer to stroll the shores of the longest freshwater beach in the world, swim in warm clean waters and enjoy the panoramic Mountain View across the Bay.

We believe the Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival target audience and base of participants will burgeon to international proportions given the festival's unique enabling approach to grass roots film enthusiasts coupled with the interest in Wasaga Beach as a preferred four season Canadian and international resort destination. For this very reason, we are seeking sponsors that can align with our values, aspirations and expectations to reach national and international markets and participants. In the near future, we will be circulating a promotional brochure outlining the 2012 Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival program as we finalize the details.

We intend to roll out the "BLUE Flag Beach" carpet to our film festival partners and participants for our SECOND annual Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival (2012) scheduled for January 26th, 2013. We invite you to join us in making this vision a reality.
